In episode 33, Shiraishi Kensaku was on the
scene
as Egos attacked the laboratory of his friend Jin
Makoto.
When the battle was over, Jin's professor was killed, and the
professor's
daughter, Mayumi, left an orphan. Kensaku tried to care for the
little
girl in the hospital, but when he went to visit, she said that she
could
smell the "blood" on his hands. He tried to explain that he
fought
for good, and not evil and they were not the same, but he could feel
the
guilt pains. So he decided to take her for an outing without his
battle suit! Unfortunately Egos caught him and they were gunned
down.
The others arrived too late. Kensaku was killed. But as they were
saluting him, Jin Makoto grabbed his uniform and became the new Battle
Cossack!
I remember I was 6 when I saw this episode. I was so
sad.
But my dad told me to look how bravely he died, and peacefully in the
end.
He died saying that he felt hot and all he wished for was some shave
ice and
that
next time, Egos would die. It made a strong impression on me as a
6 year old boy, and it greatly affected my development and
growth. His death (along with that of Mr. Hooper on
Sesame Street), gave me my first understanding of death, how traumatic
it was, and the preciousness of life. You'd never
see anything like this on watered down American television of today.
So this page is my memorial to a 30 year old character, who is still
a hero!
